Springing Into Fall

Springing Into Fall

IMG_2261With Fall quickly approaching, I’m so ready to be wearing jeans and cozy sweaters. But, for the time being I’m making due with just wearing jeans. This outfit includes the perfect transition pieces to bring you into the cooler months. Or, maybe you live somewhere where you could actually wear this in the fall. This shirt is from Nordstrom Rack . This is definitely a shirt that I will be keeping because it’s so easy to wear it for different occasions. I could dress it down with jean shorts, make it a casual dressy look like I’m wearing or I could wear black jeans, black heels and dress it up even more. I think tops like these are really nice to have in your closet because you can get so much use out of them. Especially when this one wasn’t that expensive!

These Frame jeans are PERFECT for the fall (I’ll be linking my other favorite jeans at the end of this post)! Plus, they’re so comfortable. I really like the waist and the hem because it’s distressed and something different from your typical jean. The waist is something I’m starting to see more and more but the hem is something people have already been doing. I feel like it takes a pair of jeans and elevates them almost. I easily could have dressed this outfit up with a pair of black heels and I would have been ready to go out.

Again, obsessing over these jeans. They’re the perfect “girlfriend/boyfriend” style. Mules are also one of the top shoe styles in for summer and fall! These are perfect with a small heel because they add height! I’m all for adding height in comfortable ways because I love looking taller than I actually am.

These shoes are actually from TJ Maxx!! They were suupper affordable, under $20 for sure. But, if you can’t find them there then you can really find them anywhere! Here is a similar pair for under $20!

Bejewelled Drawstring Sweatshirt

Sweatshirts are a huge part of my fall and winter wardrobe but I don’t have any “dressy” sweatshirts! To me, I could wear this to dinner and feel somewhat put together but I could also wear it with leggings and be casual! I think this is really cute and a different take on a sweatshirt.

Capture

V-Neck Sweater

A good sweater is a must have for the fall and winter. I really like this oatmeal color with the black along the sleeves and the hem. I think that the almost bell sleeves make this sweater different from others. The color is also something that matches with almost anything!

Capture.PNG

Printed Tulle T-Shirt

I saw a girl wearing a similar shirt with a black bralette underneath with black trousers and black shoes and that’s when I knew I needed to include this. I think sheer tops get a rep for being anything but put together but her outfit was so cute and she didn’t look bad. I think by wearing pants, it still looked like she was covered up and she wasn’t showing as much skin as it looks like one would in this top!

Capture.PNG

Tunic With Contrasting Stripes And Fringe

How cute is this?! With this being a tunic and me being short, I could probably get away with wearing this as a dress but I LOVE the different colored striped together. I think the shape is really nice and would look good and so many different body types. Also, the fringe is really cute in my opinion!

Capture.PNG

Tasselled T-Shirt

This picture is a little misleading for how cute this shirt is. Seriously, go look at it on the website and be prepared to buy it! I love how the tassels are the same color as the shirt so it doesn’t take away from it being a nice white top. But they add texture which I really like! I can already see myself wearing this our so I’m definitely getting this shirt.

Capture.PNG

Ruffled V-Neck Top

Ruffles are the new craze this summer and it appears they’re carrying into fall. I tend to gravitate towards stripes so I really like them on this top! I like that it’s appears to be a button down but it doesn’t have a collar and it has a v-neck. I really like this top and I think it would be easy to carry you into various seaons!

Capture.PNG

PomPom Top

Okay. This shirt is amazing. I love the pom pom detail and the colors! A white top is essential for me and if you’ve been reading my other posts, I keep wearing the same H&M top because it’s super easy to match to anything! I could see myself wearing this with jeans and tennis shoes/sandals to dress it down but I also see me wearing this out! Also, this is something I could wear to work so that’s really nice!

Bottoms:

Trousers With Front Knot

Pants with the slit front and knot detail are huge this season! I really like these because they look so comfortable and can be worn to work or out with friends. With the material being what it is, you could easily just wear a white t shirt and still look dressed up.

Capture

Floral Bermudas

Shorts are’t your typical Autumn item but in Missouri, it could be warm in October or it could be cold. With that being said, it’s nice to have a good pair of shorts like this that you can pair with a sweater or a long sleeve shirt to incorporate it into your Fall wardrobe. These shorts are also nice because you can get wear out of them in the Spring and Summer.

Capture.PNG

Corset Mini Skirt

The corset detail has been done on tops and it’s not my favorite. I think it’s something that has to be done WELL and not many people are doing that. But for this skirt, it would be really hard to mess this up! Just like a lot of other items in this post, this is super easy to dress up or down depending on the event. I’d definitely pick up this piece.

Capture.PNG

Mid Rise Jeans

Zara always does a good embroidered denim. I like the grey color because they’re not too light but they’re not too dark making them a washed out black. Also, with the orange, red and green tones, these are perfect for fall! I sense a bit of a 70’s vibe with the colors and the pattern but none the less, I love them for that reason. I think we are going to see more 70’s style coming into play this season and this is only the beginning!

Capture.PNG

Damaged Skinny Jeans

I live in black skinny jeans. They’re my favorite jeans to wear casually and to wear on a night out. I particularly like these because of the rips and the raw hem! The raw hem is something we’ve seen for a few seasons now but it’s definitely here to stay! You can’t go wrong with a pair of black skinny jeans.

Dresses:

Capture.PNG

Mini Dress With Frills

Black dresses ALWAYS get wear out of them. This one is nice because it’s suuuper comfortable since it’s a loose fitting dress. This has the ability to be dressed up or down because of the shape and simplicity. The ruffles give this dress a girly take but they aren’t too over powering like a lot of the ruffles on clothes these days.

Outerwear:

Biker Jacket

I bought a jacket like this while in England over Christmas break and it’s quickly become one of my favorite jackets! It’s super warm AND it looks cute while being functional. It’s what all the girls were wearing in England which can only mean that it will be coming here this fall/winter. I recommend getting this while it’s still in stock. For $130, it’s a bit pricey for an “on trend” piece BUT I wore mine every day during the winter and I still love it.

Accessories:

Capture.PNG

Leather City Bag With Knot Detail

I used to not like black accessories whether it be black shoes or black bags but since I’ve started wearing more black, then I’ve also started wearing more black accessories. This bag is functional with the handle and the long strap gives you the ability to wear it as a crossbody. I like the knot details on the shorter handle to give it some detail while still being a super simple bag.

Seeing Green

Seeing Green

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetHonestly…when I die, please bury me in this dress. Okay, maybe that wouldn’t be so comfortable but I think I would die for this dress. I LOOVE this color green on people which is why I don’t know why more people don’t wear it. So, if you don’t have a green dress, GO GET ONE! I promise you that you need it. I first wore green to my junior prom and got so many compliments on it. I waited until this past year to wear a green dress again and realized why I liked it so much. Green isn’t your typical go to dress color but honestly? It may have just become mine. This dress is from Zara for SO cheap. It’s on sale right now for $12.99!!!!!! At the end of this post, I’ll be linking some of my other favorite green dresses.

The cut out detail on this dress is nice because you can really tie it anyway. I tied in in a bow this day where as you could totally just tie it in a knot and leave the rest hanging down. Also, I liked the little bit of skin that was showing. While the color was something different, so was the side cut out with the one shoulder aspect. You can really tie it as tight or as loose as you want which is nice because it’s all based on personal preference and gives you room to experiment with it.

While the dress is inexpensive, it’s decent quality! I was worried that when I got it, the fabric would be thin whereas it’s actually pretty thick fabric and holds you in. I felt comfortable in the dress regardless of it being super tight and I do think a lot of that has to do with the fabric being so thick. It’s nice because I’m not worried about it being see through at all!

I just paired this dress with nude heels that I got from target in April but this style of shoe is super easy to find! Here’s a pair by Steve Madden that’s really similar! Also, here’s another pair that has a shorter heel, from Unique Vintage!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week so far, we’re halfway to the weekend! Which also means it’s almost 2 weeks until I go back to school….not looking forward to that.

Anyways, I’ve been looking for a denim skirt that I like but haven’t been able to find one. For awhile I really wanted a white one…then a jean colored one…then a black one. I finally settled on this black one from Forever21 for $19.50!!!! SO SO CHEAP. The main thing that drew me into this skirt was 1) not only was it black and cheap but 2) I liked that it was different than your basic denim skirt. Or your basic black skirt. It’s different enough, but it’s still suuuper casual with the ability to dress it up. I was having a hard time trying to think of how I was going to dress up a regular denim skirt, and I kept going back to a black skirt which is part of the reason I ultimately bought this one. Personally, I don’t think of regular denim as “dressy.” Although I know it can be, I definitely resort back to black bottoms when going out! I paired this with some random black belt I found at home mainly because the skirt was too big, but they didn’t have a smaller size. I’m super impatient, so when I want something, I don’t want to wait a week to get it…oops.

And yet again, I can’t stop wearing this shirt from H&M that’s only $14.99!! It’s so comfortable to wear, and it’s an upgrade from a typical white t shirt. The ruffles really dress this outfit up and dress this shirt up!

Going back to black denim and this shirt, I wore this out with black jeans and black heels, and it looked really dressy while being super comfortable and quite casual if I’m honest. Also, I think how you decide to do your hair, and makeup can dress it down or up! Obviously, if you style your hair, it’s going to make you look less casual in an outfit!

I made this outfit more casual just by wearing different shoes! I wore this exact outfit for my friend’s going away party with my beloved Steve Madden platforms which made it more dressy! But I was just walking/taking outfit pictures in the park, so I wanted to be comfortable. My Converse are a great option for that! If you don’t have a pair GET THEM NOW!!! Especially if you’re in college or going to be in college. I’ve included a link directly to them, so it’s easier for you!

So….what’s the point in wearing a dress if you can’t twirl around in it?! This quickly became one of my favorite things over the weekend. Since realizing that, I’ve missed out on so many twirl-able dresses. It was fun and definitely made the dress more breezy in the 110-degree weather we were having.

I picked up this dress in March/April planning on wearing it to my sorority formal but decided against it because it is somewhat casual. Although I got it a few months ago, I have been seeing dupes everywhere now!!

What I really love is the blue embroidery against the white. I like the blue and white because 1) it makes me look more tan and 2) this blue is such a pretty color.  I also really like this dress because it’s so easy to wear! You can throw it on and you don’t have to worry about accessories because the embroidery speaks for itself.

It’s not super light weight which can make it difficult to wear in the 100+ Saint Louis weather BUT if you live where it’s cooler, then it would be perfect! This dress can easily be worn in the fall as well with some brown booties. I think the long sleeves help with that aspect.

Target has a similar dress right now for $29.99. It comes in a white/red version as well as a black/white version!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

Hi!! Today I’m sharing my top Nordstrom Anniversary sale picks for you all! I looked through every single page (46 to be exact) to make sure I was picking items I would actually buy for myself and not just picking items to fill a page up. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

CaptureTopshop Moon Suede Biker Jacket / Hinge Tie Front Pullover / Chelsea28 Bell Sleeve Sweater / Sub_Urban Riot ‘Work Hard’ Tee / Topshop Studded Angel Boots / Tory Burch Mini Frida Wallet

I reallllly like this biker jacket by Topshop! I had one similar from Urban Outfitters but ended up returning it because I got the wrong size. I never got around to getting the right size or another jacket like it but if I did, I’d get this one! I really love the color because you can wear it with black, white, grey, or normal jeans.

I also really like the boots by Topshop because it’s a different approach on a Chelsea boot. The ankle looks a bit more fitted and taller which is nice! I have skinny ankles that I can thank my Great Grandma, GG, for. Because of that, it’s hard to find pants or shoes that are tight enough around my ankle. I haven’t tried these on but I think they’d look really nice paired with the biker jacket!

For the Tory Burch Wallet, I LOVE mine and I’m so glad I bought it. I think a wallet is one of those things that you use everyday, multiple times a day so it’s an investment piece. I’d much rather bite the bullet, pay the price now to have a wallet that will last me a bit than having to buy a $10 wallet from target frequently.

Levis Faux Shearling Bomber Jacket / Women’s B.P Tie Front Blouse / The Laundry Room ‘And Then Brunch’ Sweatshirt / Free People Beach Haven TeeHalogen Corbin Slide LoaferTopshop Buckle Cuff Stripe Sweater

Ok..this bomber jacket. I love. If you haven’t seen the True Grit jackets, it’s almost what it reminds me of but the dressier version. Since it’s a bomber, you can definitely dress it up with jeans, but you can also dress it down with leggings! I really love this.

The Free People top is a basic everyday shirt. I’d definitely wear this when going to class with leggings but you can also wear it with jeans if you’re going to dinner with friends! I think I “need” it.

The SHOOOOESSS. They come in silver and they’re perfect. I’m so obsessed with these. The slide loafer is so in right now but this is a different take on them!! I’ve seen a lot of Gucci want to be’s but these Halogen slide loafers in sliver are so so cute.

Lastly, my favorite, Topshop. This sweater is super cute!! I’m a sucker for stripes and this is definitely one of those pieces that I’d buy. I like that it has the buckles on the arm because it takes it from your basic black and white sweater and gives it something more.

Stay tuned because in the next couple of days I’ll have a post up about my top beauty picks from the sale! The easiest way to make sure you stay up to date is to click the follow button on my main page!

The Ultimate Comfy Pant.

The Ultimate Comfy Pant.

IMG_1064

The ultimate comfy pant and they’re the real deal. They’re better than leggings. Yup, I said it. Something actually beats leggings in a contest they didn’t even know they were involved in. BUT these pants from Brandy Melville are so so so comfortable. I had seen girls wearing the black version of these and like them, but didn’t know how often I would actually wear them. While I was in New York, I knew that I had to go to Brandy and try them on. Well, that lead me to these pants. They’re the same style, just a different color. With these, they’re perfect for spring or summer because they are super light weight and super comfortable. Also, since these aren’t super tight, they aren’t going to stick to your sweat because that would be gross. Unfortunately, Brandy Melville is one size fits all so if you aren’t able to try them on, that can be tricky. Here are also some pants that I would recommend if you don’t find yourself in a location where there’s a Brandy Melville:

As well as my pants, my top is also from Brandy Melville that I got a few years ago! It has embroidery where a pocket would be and these shirts are super popular right now! So with that being said, this is something you can easily find! Here are some of my favorite slogan shirts:

Topshop Amour Slogan Shirt

Femme Forever Shirt

Topshop Not Your Honey Slogan Shirt

I didn’t even bother wearing shoes in the pictures because shoes are lame. Jk, I like shoes just not that day I guess. Anyways, If I was to wear shoes with this outfit, I’d wear my infamous Steve Madden Brayla Platforms. If you couldn’t find those, these would also be super cute!
