Holiday Lookbook 2018

Holiday Lookbook 2018

Hey guys! I’m sharing my holiday lookbook with you all and I’ll talk through each outfit so you kind of have a better understanding. I choose to pick a few different outfits from Zara and Revolve. I love Zara because for the most part, its pretty affordable. For Revolve, I love it because they have so so many different brands and basically I want everything on the website. I tried to reuse different pieces from each brand so that you can see how you can use pieces different ways but I also tried to include a few basics like black jeans, white shoes, heels, etc that you can use from your own closet!

Zara:

1
Day: Left
Zara beaded fringe sweater | $69.90
High rise straight cut jean in black | $39.90
High heeled leather ankle boots | $99.90
Mini City Bag with Round Closure | $69.90
Night: Right
Zara beaded fringe sweater | $69.90
80’s high waist jeans in black | $49.90
Animal print leather heel | $89.90
Marbled Minaudière | $69.90

I picked this sweater from Zara to use as the key transitioning piece because it looks so cozy for the day time but also super easy to transition to a going out look. For day time, I paired this sweater with a super casual pair of straight leg jeans which I’ve been living in recently because they’re really comfortable. I have the black booties that I paired this look with and love they look with an outfit. For night-time, I switched the bag, jeans and shoes to create a more elevated look. I swapped the straight leg jeans for a pair of high-waisted skinny black jeans, something I also live in and a pair of leopard heels! I think the leopard adds a really fun element to this outfit and gives it something without trying too hard. The red clutch is a super easy way to add a pop of color with it being pretty minimal and not too in your face.

2
Velvet Jacket | $149
Animal Print Bodysuit | $49.90
80’s high waist jeans in black | $49.90
Marbled Minaudière | $69.90
Squared Broche Earrings | $19.90
Black Leather Heel | $69.90

Call your man, it’s date night! I wanted to pick an outfit that you’d be comfortable in but also look really cute. Staying with the same skinny jeans from my day to-night outfit, I pair this leopard bodysuit with a velvet blazer. I’m loving animal print this season and it’s pretty much anywhere you look. Throwing a blazer over your top and leaving it open gives a really put together look but again, not trying too hard. By mixing the velvet and leopard, it creates a really fun look! I also used the same red clutch from the day to night look because I really love a pop of red and find it really easy. I kept the earrings simple and choose a gold broche looking pair but you could easily wear gold hoops!

3
Fringed Dress | $49.90
Geometric Print Minaudière | $69.90
Triangular Pendant Earrings | $19.90
Black Leather Heel | $69.90

Whether you’re hitting the town with some friends or going to a get together, this look has you covered! This black fringe dress is my favorite because I love the way it moves, as you can see from the picture. I choose a black pair of heels to keep the base simple but then picked a really fun geometric colorful bag to go with it! To tie in the bag, I picked a geometric looking pair of earrings with similar colors.

4
Ombre Sequin Dress | $119
Beaded Crossbody Bag | $69.90
Jewel Earrings | $19.90
High Heeled Vinyl Sandal | $49.90

Okay now if you have plans where you’re wearing an outfit like this please let me know so I can tag along. Who doesn’t love a sequin midi dress? Sign me up and give me an excuse to wear this. I figured its New Years Eve so I wanted to do a pretty out there look at least once on this post. If this isn’t your style, you may like the Revolve option better! I saw this sequin midi on the Zara website and knew I had to include it. To keep this very extra look, extra I choose a sequin bag and sparkly earrings but kept the shoes simple to keep the eyes looking up at the real masterpiece, the dress. The bag and the earrings could easily be used for the more casual NYE look from Zara as well.

5
Day: Left
1. STATE Mixed Cable Knit | $119
NBD x Naven Zara Pant | $148
Rebecca Minkoff Backpack | $245
Wanderlust + Co Lunette Earring | $29
Joie Dabnis Stripe Sneaker | $298
Night: Right
Lovers + Friends Bodysuit | $88
NBD x Naven Zara Pant | $148
Sancia Mieke Clutch | $194
Wanderlust + Co Lunette Earring | $29
Kendall x Kylie Bootie | $160

For this day to-night look, I wanted to pick a fun pair of pants that could be used in a few different ways. While I didn’t use these pants in an outfit for the office, you totally could! For the day outfit, I kept it simple with a super cozy white turtle neck sweater and these platform white sneakers. Again, feel free to use any white sweater/white sneakers you have in your closet. I also pair this look with a black backpack because 1) I find them super cute and 2) they’re really great for throwing on while you’re running errands! For the night-time look, I switched the white turtle neck for a fun black bodysuit that would also look good with my date night look! Switched the sneakers for a pair of white booties which I’m sure you all have by now but I really love the zipper detail on these. I used this clutch a few times but I really love the fringe detail on it! To tie in the gold chain on the bag, I used these horn looking earrings.

6
H:ours Slater Bodysuit | $148
Levi’s 501 Skinny | $98
Sancia Mieke Clutch | $194
8 Other Reasons Hella Hoop | $33
Stuart Weitzman Nudist Heel | $425

This look can be used for date night or for a night on the town with your friends! I’m obsessed with this bodysuit and I think that the sparkles makes it extra festive this holiday season. I pair it with a pair of Levi’s 501 jeans. If you don’t have a pair please run out and buy some right now. Or go buy these from Revolve because you’ll wear them every single day like I have been. To enhance the gold on the top and the earrings, I picked a pair of gold heels. Yes, these are $425 Stuart Weitzman heels that I would never make you buy but I live in my Stuart Weitzman heels and if you’re wanting to invest, I probably wouldn’t suggest gold but these are still really fun! You can use any gold heel that you like.

7
NBD Smyth Dress | $218
8 Other Reasons Hella Hoop | $33
Schutz Cadey Lee Heel | $170
Rebecca Minkoff Leo Clutch | $95

This is my sparkly more casual look for New Years Eve and let me just say, I’m OBSESSED with this dress and if there’s one thing you buy, please buy this dress and rock the hell out of it. I picture this look with either a super sleek high pony or your hair behind your ears. I switched up the bag for a more simple option and choose to keep the shoes simple as well. I find that with a dress like this, I really like to keep my shoes simple but you can totally go crazy if you choose! You can’t really tell but the sparkle in the dress is sort of gold so I wanted to bring that out with the detail on the clutch and the earrings.

8

NBD Smyth Dress | $218
8 Other Reasons Hella Hoop | $33
Schutz Cadey Lee Heel | $170
Rebecca Minkoff Leo Clutch | $95

Now, for all of you who didn’t like my formal Zara look, this one is probably more you’re style! I love this dress and if you saw pictures from when I competed at Miss Missouri USA, I wore a mini dress that had a similar top and a jumpsuit for check in with a similar top. I kept the same heels and clutch that I used in my more casual look but opted for a fun pop of color with the earrings.

I hope you liked the looks I put together for this holiday lookbook and if there’s anything else you want to see or want outfits for, let me know and I’d be more than happy to do that for you! Like I said a few times, don’t rush out and buy pieces from here when you have something similar already. I have about two pairs of jeans that I only wear because I love them and I’m a big fan of using pieces again in different ways.

Survival Guide To Fall Fashion

Survival Guide To Fall Fashion

I wanted to share a post on everything that you need to get you through the fall season whether it be the top trends or just some really good staple pieces! There are so many amazing pieces out right now that I needed to share! I seriously think I need every single piece on this list! While realistically, that isn’t possible because hellloooo is money no object? I wish that was the case. But really, at least consider one of these pieces! I’ve got you covered from head to toe, literally.

Outerwear:

_103283853.jpg
Sam Edelman Short Faux Fur Jacket | $200

This might be one of my favorite jackets that I’ve seen this season! I love the white and black together but it’s a different take on this style jacket.

_12094457.jpg
BLNKNYC Morning Suede Moto Jacket |$188

I got this jacket last season and I don’t regret it! It’s such an easy piece to layer with and getting it in a neutral color like this makes it easy to wear with black or brown.

_103763290.jpg
Topshop Mary Kate Trench Coat |$110
_102741856
Topshop Ava Double Breasted Jacket | $44.99

I love layering with a blazer because it totally changes an outfit! Plus, who doesn’t love pink…

_103422755
Topshop Lily Knit Back Midi Coat | $125

Everybody needs a coat like this. I’ll be getting this one!

Knits:

_103407656.jpg
Wildfox Palmetto Frayed Sweater | $168

Perfect for wearing with a pair of jeans!

_103519861.jpg
Moon River Fringed Sweater | $69

This is a different take on a sweater and I love it! This also comes in black if that’s more your style!

_103717454.jpg
Topshop Super Crop Sweater | $55

I love that this sweater is cropped because it gives you the tucked in look without the bulkiness of actually tucking in a thick knit.

_103684478.jpg
Free People Menace Solid Tunic Sweater | $128
_103841680.jpg
Free People Knit Tunic | $148

A super cozy turtleneck is a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe! They’re perfect for everyday wear but you can totally dress it up or down depending on the situation. For class I’ll wear these with leggings and my vans but you can also pair it with black jeans, a coat that I showed above this and some booties!

Tops:

_103363045.jpg
Free People That Classic Girl Bodysuit | $48

Again, turtlenecks! I swear I’m a grandma because I like them but they’re so easy. I love that this one is a bodysuit because that means you won’t have to worry about tucking it in constantly and it will stay down! Since this is fitted, it’s perfect for layering!

_103188393.jpg
1.STATE Twist Front One-Shoulder Top |$49

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this top! It comes in a few different colors but I think this white color is really nice! I also love the red version. I would pair this with again, black jeans and a pair of heels for an early fall going out outfit!

_103553267.jpg
Topshop Animal Print Pajama Shirt | $68

Okay, leopard print is so in this season and I need this top. It’s perfect for work but I think you could really have fun with this top and wear it for going out! If I was to wear it out, I’d unbutton it a little more, roll up the sleeves and layer necklaces with it!

_103401946.jpg
Free People Square Eyes Bodysuit | $58

Again, anther basic bodysuit that’s great for layering but I love the square neckline!

Bottoms:

_103705672.jpg
ASTR The Label Dionne Skirt | $98
_103537309.jpg
BLNKNYC Double Buckle Suede Skirt |$98
_102847801.jpg
Free People High Waist Skinny Jeans | $78

I swear by black denim. The ones I wear basically all the time are by Topshop but these are the most similar pair I can find! Plus, I think they’re cheaper 😉

_103422009.jpg
Reformation Julia High Waist Cigarette Jeans | $128

We’ve seen these jeans for a couple of seasons now and I don’t think they’re going anywhere. A straight leg style like this makes it super easy to wear with booties, sandals, heels or a cute pair of tennis shoes. They’re comfortable enough for the day time but can transition to a night time pant as well!

Shoes:

_103644167.jpg
Kristin Cavallari Satine Bootie | $174.95

White booties have been in since last year and I don’t see them going out of style this season! I really like the zipper down the front for a different look than your standard bootie. But, I really love the wood heel with this boot! I typically see black heels on a white bootie but I love this look.

_103785890.jpg
Marc Fisher LTD Alva Bootie | $199

I think these are a pair of boots that will never go out of style. These boots are something you could honestly wear year round. During the spring and summer they’d look super cute with dresses and shorts but during the fall and winter these will look good with jeans or a black denim. I don’t think you can go wrong with this color but they do have so many other color options if these aren’t up your alley!

TS32M04PNAT_M_1.jpg
Marcel Snake Effect Ankle Boots | $180

Um, you need these. You’re welcome.

TS32M03PBLK_M_1.jpg
Mason Crocodile Effect Chelsea Boots | $160

Again, another bootie that you need! I love that it’s a new look to the chelsea boot!

TS32M09PTAN_M_1.jpg
Morty Angled Heel Boots | $130

A good everyday bootie! This color also makes it easy to wear with black or brown since both are on this boot!

Accessories:

_103440195.jpg
Brixton Audrey Wool Felt Beret | $48

Berets were in last fall/winter and they’re back! I didn’t jump on the trend last year but I will this season! Lol, last winter I was out and found a red beret so I totally grabbed it and it’s now mine. I also look like the pillsbury dough boy in it so I need to work on that.

46878633_011_a.jpg
Leonard Braided Band Hat | $98

I didn’t know I was a hat person until I tried this style! There are a thousand different versions out there but I personally really like this one! Lack of Colour also makes some really awesome ones. For me, it’s key that the brim isn’t flimsy so that it stays flat like this. I find that when the brim is flimsy, it looks weird on me.

TS24R01PRED_M_2.jpg
Panther Cross Body Bag | $48

This reminds me of the prada bags but for like 1,000th of the cost.

Vanbros Sponsorship letter.jpg
Topshop Taylor Crossbody Bag | $55

I think that this is such a fun statement bag! If you had on an all black or white outfit, this would totally pull it all together! A statement bag like this can bring together a really simple outfit and make it look like you tried harder than you did.

What’s In For Spring?

What’s In For Spring?

HELLLLOOO MARCH!! I’m so glad that it’s almost warm (unless you live in St. Louis because who knows, it could snow right now), bring on bikini season. Being that it’s fashion month, New York Fashion Week was a few weeks ago and with that being said, here’s what is in for Spring! Fashion Week always gets me so curious for the upcoming season and then the next season so if you’re like me, keep reading to be in the know.

Plastic. Plastic bags, plastic shoes, plastic accessories, it’s here. Think Kim Kardashian plastic boot/heel phase? Yeah, that’s in style now. Shocker. But, I kinda love it if it’s done the right way.

Vinchy Vinyl Bag

Clear Tote Bag

White shoes.– Personally, I hated white shoes up until a year ago, well, less than a year ago. Besides white tennis shoes, I wanted nothing to do with white shoes. Until now. They’re everywhere whether it be boots, sandals or mules, these are here to stay.

Breckelle’s Tina Lace-Up Boot

Rebecca Minkoff Izette Chelsea Boot

Stradivarius Embellished Buckle Boot

Checks (gingham). Gingham comes back in style every spring, but I’ve definitely seen it more this season than other seasons. It’s coming back in different silhouettes, pants, tops, dresses, skirts. You name it, and you can find it in gingham.

BP. Gingham Boyfriend Blazer

Daisy Street Gingham Off Shoulder Shirt

Neon Rose Skirt in Gingham with Ruched Tie Side

X-Girl sunglasses. Think 90’s shapes. They’re back. You’ve already seen every “it” girl wearing these but take a step out of your comfort zone and try them out! They come in more muted shades like black and tortoise but be bold and try red!

Let’s Talk Bras…

Let’s Talk Bras…

Black lacy bra

Is there anything worse than an uncomfortable bra or not being able to find the right size or fit? Probably not. I’ve always struggled to find a bra that I love because, for some reason, I wasn’t blessed in that area. *cough* 32A *cough*. Bra shopping was something I ALWAYS dreaded because I was never satisfied with the end result and would leave the store feeling defeated. So I thought. La Senza makes the best fitting bras I’ve ever put on my body, and they do wonders for me so I can only imagine that they can do for you!

My favorite is hands down this black lacy bra. Again, it adds 2 cup sizes (can you see a trend here? Even then, it still only pushes me up to a solid B cup, but hey, I’ll take it!!!). What’s perfect about this bra is since the whole sheer shirt trend is in style, this bra looks great underneath it! It’s great because you don’t have to deal with 3 layers (bra, bralette, shirt) and you can skip the middleman of a bralette.

My other favorite has to be this nude bra from La Senza because it goes with everything and adds 2 cup sizes 😉 what’s not to love about that?! It’s also super smooth, so you don’t see it under any shirts!

With all of that being said, here is a 20% off La Senza coupon just for you! I hope you love your bras as much as I love mine! Stop the look here. Thank you La Senza and Stylinity for this collaboration.

10 of my favorite things

10 of my favorite things

IMG_9739.JPGI realized a few days ago that most of my posts had been strictly outfits which are fine, but it doesn’t give you all the opportunity to get to know me! I’m a pretty fun person if you ask me. JK, I’m kind of boring, but that’s fine too.

1. The way warm coffee tastes on a cool fall morning. Or just any morning. Or just coffee…mainly just coffee. Waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee reminds me of being at my grandparent’s house, and that’s really special to me.

2. Taylor Swift….I mean, it wouldn’t be a favorites post without my girl T. Swift?! If you’re ever so lucky to know me in person (sarcasm…a whole lot of sarcasm) then you know that I’m literally obsessed. If you don’t know me in person, then you’re lucky.
3. MY DOG! How could I not include her?! She’s my absolute favorite thing in the entire world.
4. Nice, genuine people. Something I’ve encountered a lot of recently is people thinking that they’re too cool to be nice. News flash, we all put our pants on one leg at a time. You’re not too cool so stop acting like you are.
5. Vegan desserts. If you didn’t know, I’ve been vegan for a little over a year now, and vegan desserts are the way to my heart. I guess vegan anything. Ohhhhh like the Rueben from Chicago Diner. Yum. Now I want that and want to go to Chicago just for a sandwich. This is so bad.
6. Instagram. This one is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, and I feel so bad including this as one of my favorites but it really really is. You can find anything you want on Instagram.
7. Anything fashion related. I’ve always loved fashion and putting together outfits but never really thought I could do anything with it, until recently.
8. My family. My mom is going to be shocked with she reads this one, believe me. But it’s true. I wouldn’t be anywhere without them, especially my mom. She’s my biggest supporter AND biggest critic. She’s going to tell me how it is and whip someone’s butt into shape if they’re rude.
9. Traveling. I love everything about traveling from packing, flying, and being somewhere. A lot of people hate and dread flying, but I love it! I also love a good city (i.e., New York) and finding a new place that I love and new people. I am such a city girl at heart so really anywhere besides St. Louis is good.  But, ya girl knows how to sit her butt on a beach for a week if that’s possible.
10. Receiving mail/packages. There’s nothing better than coming home to a card, letter or package waiting for you. This could be why I like online shopping so much, and that’s an issue.

Top Zara Fall Must-Haves

Top Zara Fall Must-Haves

Tops:

Capture

Bejewelled Drawstring Sweatshirt

Sweatshirts are a huge part of my fall and winter wardrobe but I don’t have any “dressy” sweatshirts! To me, I could wear this to dinner and feel somewhat put together but I could also wear it with leggings and be casual! I think this is really cute and a different take on a sweatshirt.

Capture

V-Neck Sweater

A good sweater is a must have for the fall and winter. I really like this oatmeal color with the black along the sleeves and the hem. I think that the almost bell sleeves make this sweater different from others. The color is also something that matches with almost anything!

Capture.PNG

Printed Tulle T-Shirt

I saw a girl wearing a similar shirt with a black bralette underneath with black trousers and black shoes and that’s when I knew I needed to include this. I think sheer tops get a rep for being anything but put together but her outfit was so cute and she didn’t look bad. I think by wearing pants, it still looked like she was covered up and she wasn’t showing as much skin as it looks like one would in this top!

Capture.PNG

Tunic With Contrasting Stripes And Fringe

How cute is this?! With this being a tunic and me being short, I could probably get away with wearing this as a dress but I LOVE the different colored striped together. I think the shape is really nice and would look good and so many different body types. Also, the fringe is really cute in my opinion!

Capture.PNG

Tasselled T-Shirt

This picture is a little misleading for how cute this shirt is. Seriously, go look at it on the website and be prepared to buy it! I love how the tassels are the same color as the shirt so it doesn’t take away from it being a nice white top. But they add texture which I really like! I can already see myself wearing this our so I’m definitely getting this shirt.

Capture.PNG

Ruffled V-Neck Top

Ruffles are the new craze this summer and it appears they’re carrying into fall. I tend to gravitate towards stripes so I really like them on this top! I like that it’s appears to be a button down but it doesn’t have a collar and it has a v-neck. I really like this top and I think it would be easy to carry you into various seaons!

Capture.PNG

PomPom Top

Okay. This shirt is amazing. I love the pom pom detail and the colors! A white top is essential for me and if you’ve been reading my other posts, I keep wearing the same H&M top because it’s super easy to match to anything! I could see myself wearing this with jeans and tennis shoes/sandals to dress it down but I also see me wearing this out! Also, this is something I could wear to work so that’s really nice!

Bottoms:

Capture

Trousers With Front Knot

Pants with the slit front and knot detail are huge this season! I really like these because they look so comfortable and can be worn to work or out with friends. With the material being what it is, you could easily just wear a white t shirt and still look dressed up.

Capture

Floral Bermudas

Shorts are’t your typical Autumn item but in Missouri, it could be warm in October or it could be cold. With that being said, it’s nice to have a good pair of shorts like this that you can pair with a sweater or a long sleeve shirt to incorporate it into your Fall wardrobe. These shorts are also nice because you can get wear out of them in the Spring and Summer.

Capture.PNG

Corset Mini Skirt

The corset detail has been done on tops and it’s not my favorite. I think it’s something that has to be done WELL and not many people are doing that. But for this skirt, it would be really hard to mess this up! Just like a lot of other items in this post, this is super easy to dress up or down depending on the event. I’d definitely pick up this piece.

Capture.PNG

Mid Rise Jeans

Zara always does a good embroidered denim. I like the grey color because they’re not too light but they’re not too dark making them a washed out black. Also, with the orange, red and green tones, these are perfect for fall! I sense a bit of a 70’s vibe with the colors and the pattern but none the less, I love them for that reason. I think we are going to see more 70’s style coming into play this season and this is only the beginning!

Capture.PNG

Damaged Skinny Jeans

I live in black skinny jeans. They’re my favorite jeans to wear casually and to wear on a night out. I particularly like these because of the rips and the raw hem! The raw hem is something we’ve seen for a few seasons now but it’s definitely here to stay! You can’t go wrong with a pair of black skinny jeans.

Dresses:

Capture.PNG

Mini Dress With Frills

Black dresses ALWAYS get wear out of them. This one is nice because it’s suuuper comfortable since it’s a loose fitting dress. This has the ability to be dressed up or down because of the shape and simplicity. The ruffles give this dress a girly take but they aren’t too over powering like a lot of the ruffles on clothes these days.

Outerwear:

Capture.PNG

Biker Jacket

I bought a jacket like this while in England over Christmas break and it’s quickly become one of my favorite jackets! It’s super warm AND it looks cute while being functional. It’s what all the girls were wearing in England which can only mean that it will be coming here this fall/winter. I recommend getting this while it’s still in stock. For $130, it’s a bit pricey for an “on trend” piece BUT I wore mine every day during the winter and I still love it.

Accessories:

Capture.PNG

Leather City Bag With Knot Detail

I used to not like black accessories whether it be black shoes or black bags but since I’ve started wearing more black, then I’ve also started wearing more black accessories. This bag is functional with the handle and the long strap gives you the ability to wear it as a crossbody. I like the knot details on the shorter handle to give it some detail while still being a super simple bag.
