Survival Guide To Fall Fashion

Survival Guide To Fall Fashion

I wanted to share a post on everything that you need to get you through the fall season whether it be the top trends or just some really good staple pieces! There are so many amazing pieces out right now that I needed to share! I seriously think I need every single piece on this list! While realistically, that isn’t possible because hellloooo is money no object? I wish that was the case. But really, at least consider one of these pieces! I’ve got you covered from head to toe, literally.

Outerwear:

_103283853.jpg
Sam Edelman Short Faux Fur Jacket | $200

This might be one of my favorite jackets that I’ve seen this season! I love the white and black together but it’s a different take on this style jacket.

_12094457.jpg
BLNKNYC Morning Suede Moto Jacket |$188

I got this jacket last season and I don’t regret it! It’s such an easy piece to layer with and getting it in a neutral color like this makes it easy to wear with black or brown.

_103763290.jpg
Topshop Mary Kate Trench Coat |$110
_102741856
Topshop Ava Double Breasted Jacket | $44.99

I love layering with a blazer because it totally changes an outfit! Plus, who doesn’t love pink…

_103422755
Topshop Lily Knit Back Midi Coat | $125

Everybody needs a coat like this. I’ll be getting this one!

Knits:

_103407656.jpg
Wildfox Palmetto Frayed Sweater | $168

Perfect for wearing with a pair of jeans!

_103519861.jpg
Moon River Fringed Sweater | $69

This is a different take on a sweater and I love it! This also comes in black if that’s more your style!

_103717454.jpg
Topshop Super Crop Sweater | $55

I love that this sweater is cropped because it gives you the tucked in look without the bulkiness of actually tucking in a thick knit.

_103684478.jpg
Free People Menace Solid Tunic Sweater | $128
_103841680.jpg
Free People Knit Tunic | $148

A super cozy turtleneck is a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe! They’re perfect for everyday wear but you can totally dress it up or down depending on the situation. For class I’ll wear these with leggings and my vans but you can also pair it with black jeans, a coat that I showed above this and some booties!

Tops:

_103363045.jpg
Free People That Classic Girl Bodysuit | $48

Again, turtlenecks! I swear I’m a grandma because I like them but they’re so easy. I love that this one is a bodysuit because that means you won’t have to worry about tucking it in constantly and it will stay down! Since this is fitted, it’s perfect for layering!

_103188393.jpg
1.STATE Twist Front One-Shoulder Top |$49

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this top! It comes in a few different colors but I think this white color is really nice! I also love the red version. I would pair this with again, black jeans and a pair of heels for an early fall going out outfit!

_103553267.jpg
Topshop Animal Print Pajama Shirt | $68

Okay, leopard print is so in this season and I need this top. It’s perfect for work but I think you could really have fun with this top and wear it for going out! If I was to wear it out, I’d unbutton it a little more, roll up the sleeves and layer necklaces with it!

_103401946.jpg
Free People Square Eyes Bodysuit | $58

Again, anther basic bodysuit that’s great for layering but I love the square neckline!

Bottoms:

_103705672.jpg
ASTR The Label Dionne Skirt | $98
_103537309.jpg
BLNKNYC Double Buckle Suede Skirt |$98
_102847801.jpg
Free People High Waist Skinny Jeans | $78

I swear by black denim. The ones I wear basically all the time are by Topshop but these are the most similar pair I can find! Plus, I think they’re cheaper ūüėČ

_103422009.jpg
Reformation Julia High Waist Cigarette Jeans | $128

We’ve seen these jeans for a couple of seasons now and I don’t think they’re going anywhere. A straight leg style like this makes it super easy to wear with booties, sandals, heels or a cute pair of tennis shoes. They’re comfortable enough for the day time but can transition to a night time pant as well!

Shoes:

_103644167.jpg
Kristin Cavallari Satine Bootie | $174.95

White booties have been in since last year and I don’t see them going out of style this season! I really like the zipper down the front for a different look than your standard bootie. But, I really love the wood heel with this boot! I typically see black heels on a white bootie but I love this look.

_103785890.jpg
Marc Fisher LTD Alva Bootie | $199

I think these are a pair of boots that will never go out of style. These boots are something you could honestly wear year round. During the spring and summer they’d look super cute with dresses and shorts but during the fall and winter these will look good with jeans or a black denim. I don’t think you can go wrong with this color but they do have so many other color options if these aren’t up your alley!

TS32M04PNAT_M_1.jpg
Marcel Snake Effect Ankle Boots | $180

Um, you need these. You’re welcome.

TS32M03PBLK_M_1.jpg
Mason Crocodile Effect Chelsea Boots | $160

Again, another bootie that you need! I love that it’s a new look to the chelsea boot!

TS32M09PTAN_M_1.jpg
Morty Angled Heel Boots | $130

A good everyday bootie! This color also makes it easy to wear with black or brown since both are on this boot!

Accessories:

_103440195.jpg
Brixton Audrey Wool Felt Beret | $48

Berets were in last fall/winter and they’re back! I didn’t jump on the trend last year but I will this season! Lol, last winter I was out and found a red beret so I totally grabbed it and it’s now mine. I also look like the pillsbury dough boy in it so I need to work on that.

46878633_011_a.jpg
Leonard Braided Band Hat | $98

I didn’t know I was a hat person until I tried this style! There are a thousand different versions out there but I personally really like this one! Lack of Colour also makes some really awesome ones. For me, it’s key that the brim isn’t flimsy so that it stays flat like this. I find that when the brim is flimsy, it looks weird on me.

TS24R01PRED_M_2.jpg
Panther Cross Body Bag | $48

This reminds me of the prada bags but for like 1,000th of the cost.

Vanbros Sponsorship letter.jpg
Topshop Taylor Crossbody Bag | $55

I think that this is such a fun statement bag! If you had on an all black or white outfit, this would totally pull it all together! A statement bag like this can bring together a really simple outfit and make it look like you tried harder than you did.

Work Wear

Work Wear

IMG_4453Hi! I’m so excited to be back with a post that’s acceptable for the office! Well, at least it’s acceptable in the office I work in, and I can imagine it would be acceptable in most that require business casual! The only thing that might be questionable would be the denim¬†skirt, but that could easily be switched out.¬†Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

If you’re anything like me, then you hate having to get up in the morning to get dressed for work at 8am. I’m not about it and dread it the night before. But, this outfit is super easy and looks like you spent more time getting ready than you actually did. The shirt makes it dressy and like you’re trying, but the skirt keeps it semi-casual! My skirt is under $30 which I also really like. I have it linked here!¬†Like I said above, if your office doesn’t allow denim/black denim like mine does, then you can switch it out for a nicer pair of pants like these from Urban Outfitters or a different skirt!

I know some people don’t like navy and black together but personally, I do. I don’t mind the two together when it’s paired like this. I think the cream in the shirt helps break up the navy as well. My shirt is no longer available but here are two other options that I really like! This one is from Topshop, and this one is from Treasure & Bond!

For the shoes, I kept it really simple with my favorite fall shoe. These mules are from Target, but I’ve seen them pretty much everywhere this season!

Guess whos back, back again?! It’s me!! Long, long time no talk but I hope you all have been doing well! Life is crazy at the moment, and I plan on doing a post talking about that, but for now, I have another fashion post! It’s FINALLY feeling like fall here which means I can layer and wear jackets and pants and all of the cute fall clothes.

This look is super casual, but it’s nice for every day or even a casual night time look for dinner or something. I like it a lot mainly because I’m wearing my great grandpa’s U.S Army jacket which is fun but at the same time my great grandma (GG) most definitely took his name off of it. You’d probably have to have known her for it to be funny but basically, she was one of the most stubborn ladies I have ever met…must run in the family ūüėČ Anyways, since you can’t buy the jacket, I’ve linked one that is super super similar!

IMG_4908

The shirt I’ve shared on Instagram already, but I love it! It’s from ASOS and SUPER cheap. It’s also a great basic piece for an even better price. I love wearing red because I consider it a neutral..everybody loves red.

My jeans are from Topshop and let me tell you, I swear by Topshop jeans. They’re my favorite because they’re super tight, keep their shape all day, but they’re still so comfortable. They’re also really nice because they come in various lengths (mine are a 28X30) which helps people like me who lack I the height region. But one thing is that I do think they run small so you do need to size up. I typically wear a 26, and these are a size 28!

Time for my favorite part, my shoes! No joke, they’re from Target! Yes, Target and under $30!

For my accessories, I just wore my ring from David Yurman that I don’t ever take off and two rings that belonged to my grandma! I also wore a belt that I got a year ago from Nordstrom, my Ray-Ban sunglasses and a choker from ASOS!

As always, make sure to follow me on Instagram so you can stay up to date with my outfits because I always post there first!

Long time no talk! I’ve been SO busy with going back to school, recruitment and just life in general. I’m so excited to finally be able to sit down and write a new post for you all. It seems fitting that my new post is related to Fall since well, it’s already September! Where did the time go?! Yeah, I literally don’t know either.

IMG_2373.JPG

During the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, I picked up this jacket from Levi’s that’s soo comfortable and I can’t wait to actually wear it ya know, when it’s not 85 degrees. Faux shearling jackets have been in for a few years now but I’m finally jumping on the bandwagon and giving into this trend. I do really like this jacket though and like I said, I’m so excited to wear it. I think it’s going to be one of my fall staples because I can wear it with leggings to class or with jeans on a typical day!IMG_2372.JPG

IMG_2374.JPG

Another fall staple which I’ve already talked about are these Topshop jeans and these Nine West¬†(P.S these are on sale for $35!!!!!)¬†shoes! Black denim is so essential to my wardrobe because it’s easy to pair with a t shirt, tennis shoes and a jacket for a day look but you can also take these same jeans and wear them with heels, a nicer top and you’re ready to go out.

This is a short post but it’s pretty to the point! As a reminder, follow my Instagram (@sydney.wilhelm) to stay up to date with what I’m wearing before it hits the blog!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

Hi!! Today I’m sharing my top Nordstrom Anniversary sale picks for you all! I looked through every single page (46 to be exact) to make sure I was picking items I would actually buy for myself and not just picking items to fill a page up. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

CaptureTopshop Moon Suede Biker Jacket / Hinge Tie Front Pullover / Chelsea28 Bell Sleeve Sweater / Sub_Urban Riot ‘Work Hard’ Tee / Topshop Studded Angel Boots / Tory Burch Mini Frida Wallet

I reallllly like this biker jacket by Topshop! I had one similar from Urban Outfitters but ended up returning it because I got the wrong size. I never got around to getting the right size or another jacket like it but if I did, I’d get this one! I really love the color because you can wear it with black, white, grey, or normal jeans.

I also really like the boots by Topshop because it’s a different approach on a Chelsea boot. The ankle looks a bit more fitted and taller which is nice! I have skinny ankles that I can thank my Great Grandma, GG, for. Because of that, it’s hard to find pants or shoes that are tight enough around my ankle. I haven’t tried these on but I think they’d look really nice paired with the biker jacket!

For the Tory Burch Wallet, I LOVE mine and I’m so glad I bought it. I think a wallet is one of those things that you use everyday, multiple times a day so it’s an investment piece. I’d much rather bite the bullet, pay the price now to have a wallet that will last me a bit than having to buy a $10 wallet from target frequently.

Levis Faux Shearling Bomber Jacket¬†/¬†Women’s B.P Tie Front Blouse¬†/¬†The Laundry Room ‘And Then Brunch’ Sweatshirt¬†/¬†Free People Beach Haven Tee /¬†Halogen Corbin Slide Loafer /¬†Topshop Buckle Cuff Stripe Sweater

Ok..this bomber jacket. I love. If you haven’t seen the True Grit jackets, it’s almost what it reminds me of but the dressier version. Since it’s a bomber, you can definitely dress it up with jeans, but you can also dress it down with leggings! I really love this.

The Free People top is a basic everyday shirt. I’d definitely wear this when going to class with leggings but you can also wear it with jeans if you’re going to dinner with friends! I think I “need” it.

The SHOOOOESSS. They come in silver and they’re perfect. I’m so obsessed with these. The slide loafer is so in right now but this is a different take on them!! I’ve seen a lot of Gucci want to be’s but these Halogen slide loafers in sliver are so so cute.

Lastly, my favorite, Topshop. This sweater is super cute!! I’m a sucker for stripes and this is definitely one of those pieces that I’d buy. I like that it has the buckles on the arm because it takes it from your basic black and white sweater and gives it something more.

Stay tuned because in the next couple of days I’ll have a post up about my top beauty picks from the sale! The easiest way to make sure you stay up to date is to click the follow button on my main page!

Summer Ruffles

Summer Ruffles

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetWelcome to my new favorite outfit I’ve ever worn. I saw a Topshop stylist wearing this dress on Instagram and I¬†knew that I had to get it! I actually got mine from Nordstrom since there is no Topshop in St. Louis. I also wanted to be able to try it on before purchasing it so that I didn’t have to send it back if it didn’t fit or I didn’t like it. Well, I loved it. My tip for Topshop is to size up!!! I wear a 0-2 in dresses and most clothing but for this dress, I am wearing a size 4. Seriously, this dress is so comfortable and I’m not one to gravitate towards dresses! So when I say you need this, you absolutely need this. It’s perfect for a last minute 4th of July outfit. I have it pretty dressed up in these pictures but it would be easy to dress down with some sandals or maybe even the Nine West shoes that I’ve worn in my other posts!

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

I paired this dress with shoes from TARGET!! Yes, Target. Don’t hate, they actually have cute things. I originally got these shoes in April for my sorority formal and didn’t know when I’d wear them again so I’m glad I’m able to find ways to keep re-wearing these. These shoes¬†by Steve Madden are SUPER similar to the ones I’m wearing, mine aren’t online anymore! You can definitely find this style anywhere though.

I kept the jewelry minimal with this outfit, wearing a necklace from Kendra Scott that I don’t ever take off and another dainty necklace. I also just wore my David Yurman ring (in the color prasiolite) and two other rings that my Grandma owned before she passed away!

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

I particularly love how this dress made me look tall! That’s a huge plus when I’m shopping for clothes. Most dresses I try on are always too long so this one is definitely the perfect length. If you’re around 5’3 then you NEED this!

A New York Minute

A New York Minute

I was in New York for a minute during June and it was chilly compared to the 90+ St. Louis weather! New York is one of my favorite cities ever so I really enjoyed going back! We did a ton of walking during the day and a half we were there. For some reason, my parents seem to be against taking the subway which is so much faster than having to walk from the Financial District to Greenwich Village.

IMG_9739.JPG

I’m wearing the same top and shoes that I mentioned in my Montreal “Summer” post. If you read that, you can see what I was talking about when I said the stripes are different sizes. I think that makes this shirt fun and different! While navy and white stripes are classic, this gives it a fun twist. Not pictured is the surgical tape on my feet because I had so many blisters and if I walked another mile, I think my feet would have actually fallen off. I’d really like to keep my feet, so these shoes have been “retired” until they don’t hurt anymore. But again, I love these shoes! Stan Smith’s are the popular option when it comes to white tennis shoes. I have them, I wear them, I love them, but I feel like these by Nine West are a “grown up” version if that makes any sense! What you can’t really see is that there is black on the back instead of green. The black makes these so much more versatile. These shoes are also on MAJOR sale right now for only $34.99 when they’re originally¬†$80!!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Can I just take a second to mention how pretty New York is?! It’s so pretty and perfect fo a picture almost anywhere you go…like the middle of the street.

I got this dress (pinafore) in December before my trip to England. I totally forgot to bring it and just got around to wearing it this summer. But it’s so so comfy. It was perfect for walking around in. I find that sometimes jeans or shorts can get uncomfortable after a period of time and this didn’t do that. It was perfect. Mine is from ASOS but I’m sure you can find one anywhere. ASOS is definitely my go to when I want clothes on a budget. I’m always able to find something I like and their shipping is super fast! Most items arrive within 4-5 days. They also have a deal where you pay $19 (although it fluctuates sometimes) for “free” 2 day shipping for a year! I did that because I found myself ordering from there all the time. I also did that because I have a problem and when I order something, I want it right then.
